Trying to read my old JAZZ cartridges.

I am unable to read any of my old JAZZ cartridges.
I have both the 1GB and 2GB external scssi drives
connected to a Win 98 se, 500 MHZ Pentium 3 system.
The cartridges are recognized and I can usually
do a DIR for the cartridge, but the system can't
read the data, it just hangs.
Does anyone have any hints?
Are there any web sites where Iomega JAZZ problems
are discussed?

Well, if there's something really wrong with the drives or disks, then
I can't help you. But you could try looking through the configuration
tips at my (abandoned) website.

I suppose it could be a termination problem or something. Also, since
they're external drives, the power supplies might not be supplying
sufficient power anymore.

Iomega has a web support forum, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

Thank you. I will study the material on your web page
http://pw2.netcom.com/~deepone/zipjaz/index.html
Since it appears to affect all the cartridges, it's hard to blame
the drives. Also the 1GB carts fail on both 1&2 GB drives. So again
I find it hard to blame the drives, which haven't been used heavily
anyway, since I was trying to use them and the carts to archive data.

IOMEGA is advertising some attractive disk deals. But I'm gun shy
about trying anything of theirs, because of my experience and the
boxes of discarded ZIP drives at surplus stores.
