Assigns Jaz 1GB as floppy drive

My system recognizes my Jaz 1GB as a floppy drive.

I'm running XP SP2 on an HP (or Compaq) NC6000 1.6GHZ. The BIOS doesn't have
a ATAPI configuration option "Auto" or "None" or otherwise; it only has
configuration options for the parallel port (ECP, EPP, Bi-Directional,
Standard). I've tried all but EPP.

do you know how to stop my Jaz 1GB from being recognized as a floppy drive?

Sorry I forgot....
the Jaz connects through the parallel port using a SCSI adapter.
