undeleting zip files

I accidentally removed my zip 100 before xp
finished it's automatic backup. I inserted another
disk, and apparently windows finished the job by
backing up the contents of the first disk onto the
second. Is there any reasonable way to undelete
the original files from the second disk, which I
assume were simply deleted from view vs. actually
being removed from the disk, in the usual windows
fashion. The contents of both disks combined were
far less than 100 MB, so I doubt any actual
overwriting occurred. I backed up the disks about
a month ago, so the amount of lost data is small,
but some of it is significant, so I would
appreciate any help.

Thanks.

if your disks are FAT formatted (factory formatted) then boot your computer
into DOS, run the Iomega DOS driver for your drive and then use an undelete
utility from DOS.

Unless the 2nd disk contains 100MB of replaced data, you have a likelihood
to recover the files on that disk that have been deleted and have not been
overwritten by newer data.

http://www.winternals.com has a utiltiy called FileRestore. While it's not
free, it does however work quite well.
