How To Turn Off Write Caching For ZIP SCSI Drive Under Windows XP?

I have an Iomega ZIP 100 SCSI drive connected to an internal ISA ZIP
Zoom (Adaptec) SCSI card using Windows XP Professional with
Administrative Rights. The ZIP Drive works OK but it takes a long
pregnant pause before I can eject the ZIP disk after writing to it.
It's very very annoying. According to Device Manager - Disk Drives -
Iomega ZIP 100 SCSI - Policies, write caching is enabled but I want to
change it to "Optimized for Quick Removal" (write caching off) but I
can't because both entry's are grayed out! Is there anyway to turn
off write caching for this drive by some other means or is there
someway to open up the grayed out options? Note, the same options are
not grayed out for the Flash Drive Policies. Also the latest
IomegaWare v4.0.2 doesn't seem to have any options regarding the write
caching setting. I have thoroughly looked over the Iomega site,
Google search, etc. and can't find anything about this. I guess I'm
the only one with this problem!

Are you ejecting the zip disks with the button on the drive itself or
in my computer right click "Eject" ?

The only other thing that comes to mind... might be to remove the
iomegaware driver and try earlier versions of the driver to see what
options are greyed out or not.

Also some person replied to your question back in May on the microsoft
help area.... If you didn't see it, then here it is....
