Iomega Hotburn question

I have a strange problem with the hotburn software.

My drive is a samsung DVD/CDRW 48x24x48 speed.
SAMSUNG_CDRW/DVD_SM-332BT (This is according to windows 98se device
manager )

It say's the maximum is 32x speed. However, I think it is showing the
wrong recording speed but recording at 48x speed or faster.

I can tell this from using my previous drive.

does the software have a "drivespeed" utility? you may want to run/re-run
that , it may show your desired speed then
