Years ago I used Zip drives to back up my Mac computer and store old
files. I've upgraded, and now I can't find a way to read the old Zip
disks. (I'd like to transfer the files onto CDs.) I have a Microtech
USB-SCSI-DB25 cable, but that doesn't seem to do anything. Any
suggestions? My current computer is a PowerBook G4.

The problem, from a PC perspective, is that even if the USB to SCSI
cable ASPI driver works, the Zip drives still need to have installed
their own type specific SCSI driver after that. I don't know if Iomega
ever released, for a Mac or A PC, an appropriate driver that can find a
SCSI Zip drive on a USB to SCSI converter cable. You will have to do
some digging though their web site on the question whether you can run a
SCSI Zip from a USB to SCSI cable, specifically under the Mac OS version
you are using.

The easiest solution might well be to use an USB ZIP drive
(100 MB) and plug that into the PowerBook G4. There should
not be an issue of reading Mac files in a Mac-formatted ZIP
disk in this lashup.
