Greetings!
I found that one of my (7) Zip 250 disks is unreadable. The other six are
all readable. All were recorded from the same PC.
Is there an inexpensive way to recover the data? Are there any steps I can
take to try and unscramble the data?

Iomega Zip 250
Model Z250P
Manufactured 8/9/1999

Any / all suggestions appreciated!

TIA!

try scandisk or norton disk doctor - it might fix it. Otherwise, buy
www.grc.com spinrite 6. If spinrite can't fix it, it's not likely that
anything less than a data recovery service bureau will.

I would not try Norton Disk Doctor on a Zip disk.
The "readme" file that came with Norton System Works 2001 warned
that Disk Doctor is not to be used with Zip disks.

-------------------

That's just for the surface scan: "Do not use Norton Disk Doctor's surface
scan function to check for bad sectors, as this will thwart the internal bad
sector detection and cause problems with your Zip or Jaz cartridge."

You can use Norton disk doctor to check for file problems. As you can see,
it's not recommended for physical disk checks, but you can still use it to
check for file damage.

Dave, I sent a couple of emails to your hotmail account,
regarding OnTrack's Easy Recovery program.
