I have an Iomega zip drive 650 external CD burner. I recently got a
new computer with XP, of coarse. I tried to install the iomega burner
to my computer but XP has a problem with the software. So I
uninstalled the iomega software and rebotted. Now my main CD drive in
my computer tower does not work. Every time I boot up a box appears on
my tool bar that say that windows will not load the driver because it
may cause problems with the OS.
I tried to uninstall the driver for my cd rom and let windows see the
new hardware and reinstall it. When ever I do that I once again I get
the box in the tool bar that says that it will not let me load the
driver.

I called a computer help service and got as much info from the guy as
I could before they asked for the credit card. He said that there is
some remains of the Iomega cd burner someplace on my computer and that
they need to be removed.

so my question is.. Where can I look for the iomega drivers to deleat
them? I uninstalled the iomega software. I searched for "iomega" and
deleated all of thes files. So what next? thanks.

The Windows XP "system restore" feature should be able to return your
registry to a state previous to your installation
of the Iomega software. Do a Google search on "XP system restore",
and you will find plenty of information.

Thanks for the advise but for some reason the system restore does not
work.

I clicked on a date and then clicked "next". It goes through the
entire process of system restore. It restarts and then it says that it
was unable to restore my system and to try another date. I went
through this about 4 times.
