Hi all. I use a 2gb Jaz drive attached to a Mac.

I've been given a 2gb Jaz disk, formatted for pc, which I'd like to reformat
for Mac.

I put the disk in the drive, the orange 'reading' light becomes active
(good); but it then stays permanently lit with no sign of activity (bad).

So I don't get an icon on my desktop, so I can't use Iomega Tools to
reformat the disk.

So my question: how do I reformat a 2gb Jaz pc disk from pc to Mac?

Thanks and regards.

It sounds like the drive or disk may be bad. If you have other disks
that work, then it would seem to be the disk.

Hia.

I thought the same (the drive's fine, as are numerous Mac disks).

Being a bit stupid, I thought there may be something I'm obviously missing
in the 'pc-to-mac' reformatting.

So it seems the good news is that I may not be as stupid as I thought!

Thanks.

Maybe the disk was protected or has a password ?

Are you trying short erase or long erase ?

There is a lot of info near the bottom of the above webpage
on mac ~ pc ZIP tips.
