I've got a dual-boot, Win98 & XP Pro with an IDE Zip 100 drive. It works
great under Win98, but under XP I have 3 or 4 disks it won't read. When I
try to read a disk under XP I get the message "Please insert disk". My XP
system is Fat32, just like the Win98. It's a real pain not to be able to
rely on my Zip with XP. Anyone have an idea?

I also have an IDE/Atapi Zip 100 drive on a system which dual-boots
Win98SE and XP Pro SP1. It works fine under both operating systems.

Is there anything different about these 3 or 4 disks which can't be
read under XP? If they were read/write protected, then I think that
could cause the error message you're getting. But if you can use them
under Win98, then I would think that you know how to unprotect them
with the Iomega software.

If it's not read/write protection, then I would guess that there is
some software or driver you have running under XP that is causing the
problem. Maybe if you could give more details about how the drive is
installed, something else might come to mind.

You can find some configuration tips (although nothing specific to XP)
at my aging website.

Are they are Nomai disks or Iomega disks ?

Are they protected disks ?
