Unfortunately the only thing you can do is toss the drive. If the
250 accepts 100M disks but rejects every 250M disk inserted then the
media sensor has failed. It's a known problem with the 250 drives.

hmm, how can I be for sure? I have 38 x 250 MB Disks full of Data, but
no 100 MB Disks.

Is there any way to repair or replace the media sensor?

Try to find one. If it's a media sensor problem the 100MB disk test
will make it conclusive. It's the only way for an end user to
determine if you have a media sensor failure - the drive will
consistently accept 100M disks but reject any 250M disk inserted as
you described.

Unfortunately no. Iomega doesn't sell component level parts, repair
the drives, or authorize anyone else to repair them. In warranty
drives get exchanged for a functioning unit. They don't repair them.
At best, they swap out major components like head assemblies or the
entire pcb and your old drive then goes into Iomega's "refurbished"
stock pile.
