Hello, Dave

The Iomega download site says that the drivers are built into the backup
software, but that they don't support Ditto beyond Win 98:
http://www.iomega.com/software/dittodrivers.html

I've used Iomega QuickBack for DOS Ver 5.3
(using a Caldera DR-DOS 7.05 boot disk, with RAM drive to avoid
a "memory allocation" error) on a Win 98 machine/
parallel port Ditto 2 GB tape drive. Using this DOS-based solution,
it took something like 6 hours to back up only 600 MB on the hard drive.

If your XP machine uses the NTFS file system instead of FAT32,
you can't use DOS based programs to gain access to your files.
Use Windows Explorer and right-click on your c: drive,
click on "properties" and see what type of file system
your c: drive is set up with.

Regards,
Ed

Solved this problem for tape and printer by running them on Win 98 in
another partition or on an old PC in the corner, with a common FAT32
partition for access to data. Unfortunately my Ditto 2GB died, leaving
me with inaccessible backups. In a way, that solved the XP problem!
