Hello,

Had WIN XP PRO
then system rebuilt
again with WIN XP PRO

before and after, built in Zip drive 100

Since rebuild:
Insert and read/write to zip disks without problem
Insert disk that was password protected before rebuild > "Please insert
a diskinto Drive Q"
Noticed when right click drive no facility to protect etc

So, maybe need driver.
(System Info says Zip drive is SCSI )

Downloaded and installed ioware-w32-x86-402.exe
Rebooted
Now have icons to protect etc

QUESTION 1
Right click on zip drive properties say zip is Atapi (Does this have any
relevance? )

QUESTION 2
Why can the drive not see my password protected disks saying only "Please
insert a disk into Drive Q" ??

Ideas anyone...?

If you are accessing it from a shortcut created on your desktop, you
can't access a write protected disk, you have to go into "My Computer"
and access the drive from there, right clicking on the link and
selecting "unprotect"

There is a long-standing problem with this. Do a Google search on the
various Iomega newsgroups to get the history. If you still can't get
it to work, welcome to the clan.
