Hi,

I have an internal zip 100 atap/ide drive. Using Win2000 - the drive
works fine but I have a problem with a particular disk.

Other disks work OK, but one disk (naturally with data I need on it)
does not work. The disk is not recognized by my PC.

When I try to open the disk I get an error message saying, "please
insert a disk in the drive".

So I can't even run scandisk to fix it or even a recovery utility.

Is there an fix for this? Any help appreciated.

Thanks

My God, the repair fees for a disk like this are at least $400 every
where I look on the web.

This is not fun...I think I'll give up.

IMHO imoega should fix this for a nominal fee.

Instead they refered me a repair service that (like all others i've
seen) that wants a lot of bucks to fix- hundreds of dollars.

The zip drive's coming out of PC...

Just my opinion but I think it's a mistake to store any valuable data
on these things...

Do you know anyone else with a zip drive with which to try
reading the disk?
