Iomega software question
(too old to reply)

(The few messages I see on this group give me hope that a human who
might know the answer will find this sometime. Is that too much to
hope?)
I recently bought from Iomega their Mini/Portable Hard Drive, and with
it came some backup software - AUTOMATIC BACKUP PRO. It looks as if
this is an easier program to use than some freeware I'm using now,
but,
BUT,
it seems not to be able to find my CD drive so that I
could use CD-RW as storage medium. (The new hard drive I'm using for
other purposes, and besides it is not large enough, the other
possibilities that the program recognizes are the C:drive and the Zip
drive, both inconvenient to use.)
I've tried to ask the question through their web site, but it just
wants me to ask questions it has already written down, so that's no
help.

While I'd be very happy if someone out there (you?) could answer, I'd
also be glad if someone tells me that there is absolutely no way to
use CD media with this program, just so I know one way or the other.
Thanks.

pretty sure that the program can only use IOMEGA branded drives. If your
CD-RW drive is not an IOMEGA branded machine, I think it won't work.

Did you try clicking the "Refresh List" button or the "Add a network
destination" button ?

When in doubt I just start clicking a lot of things that look somewhat
close to what I was looking for.

good luck,
