Just installed Win XP Pro and got my Zip Drive running ...barely. The
problem is that it runs VERY slow.
Try different LTP settings in BIOS. Usually EPP or bi-directional works
better than ECP.

I would do this.

in device manager, check LPT port settings. Make sure "Use any Interrupt
assigned to the port" and "enable legacy plug and play" are both checked.

Also, Iomega does have a XP Slow Transfer patch available on their website.

Just installed Win XP Pro and got my Zip Drive running ...barely. The
problem is that it runs VERY slow. My system almost grinds to a halt
while
the zip drive decides whether to read a disk or not. I downloaded and
installed the drivers from the Ioemga site, along with the patch that'was
supposed to speed up its performance, but it still runs extremely slow.
Is there another patch, or a setting that I need to fiddle with for this
drive to perform like it should? P.S.: It performs flawlessly under
Win98SE.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you installed Service Pack 1 for XP Pro? Solved all my problems with
Zip PP100.
